Sepiatonic vs. High Step Society

You love the explosive shenanigans of Sepiatonic (Portland)...you love the rampunctuous uproariousness of High Step Society (Eugene)...just think what the two groups can do together on one stage! Electro-swing, house, bass, ghetto blues, balkan beats, live dance and burlesque acts will explode from the stage....as you get sweaty and nasty on the dance floor of the newly remodeled Paris Theater. Emerging from the emerald twilight of Portland, Oregon, Sepiatonic is a vaudeville-inspired dance and music experience. Some parts theatrical show, some parts wild dance party, this project always brings innovative audio and visual entertainment! We feature original live and electronic music, focusing on electro-swing, but extending out into further realms of balkan beats, hip-hop, funk, and more. Sepiatonic strives to bring vintage class into today’s electronic music, and to put a bumpin’ booty party into a vaudeville experience. When the honeyed tones of The Jazz Age meld with hottest beat drops of the new millennium, you get High Step Society’s elixir of American Electro Swing. Grandma remembers when she listened to jazz giants on the old Victrola. Grandkids feel the bass beats deep in their chest cavity. Merging dance music from our past with sounds for the future, High Step Society features a shimmering horn section that soars over syncopated high hats and rat-a-tat snare. The kids in the band are electronic music producers as well as educated jazz musicians.
